Takeuchi, an industry pioneer helping contractors across North America has recently unveiled the first fully electric compact excavator with plans on electrifying their entire fleet of compact heavy equipment machines.
Founded in Akio Takeuchi in Sakaki, Nagano Prefecture, Japan in 1963, Takeuchi changed the game by introducing the world’s first compact excavator in 1971, followed by the first compact track loader in North America in 1986. Today, it’s a global manufacturer with a product lineup that includes compact excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, and a variety of attachments, all engineered for durability and performance on the job.
Takeuchi is also stepping into the future of sustainable construction. Its TB20e, a fully electric compact excavator with zero emissions and a runtime of four to eight hours, is already available through dealer networks. The brand has also showcased two new electric prototypes, the TB10e and TB35e, and will unveil a cabbed version of the TB20e by Q3 2025. For job sites that demand flexibility, the TB210 RH and TB216 SH hybrid models switch seamlessly between diesel and electric power, delivering zero-emission performance.
