Cat Rentals and Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) get major updates to simplify renting, improve fleet visibility, and speed up repairs—helping contractors keep projects on track and minimize downtime.
Caterpillar’s rental platform, Cat Rentals, is undergoing enhancements and is set to offer a more modern, seamless experience for rental customers. The goal is to streamline communication with dealers. Customers also gain improved visibility into machine data, enabling better management of their rental fleets through telematics integration.
It’s designed to make the entire rental process a lot smoother. For instance, contractors can now easily find a local dealer, rent the right equipment, and track their rentals in one place.
“It’s all about making the rental process easier and offering better visibility, so Cat Rentals’ digital tools can help our customers meet their toughest challenges more efficiently,” said Phil Kelliher, Senior Vice President, Cat Rental & Used. “What’s changing is the brand’s design and the way customers will experience it. What’s not changing is our commitment to customers, backed by local roots and global strength.”
The updates include an enhanced search feature for quick equipment searches, an improved customer dashboard with details of past, current, and upcoming rentals, a self-service option, and a detailed rental view that offers insights into utilization, telematics, and billing. Users can also customize notifications and alerts to improve fleet and business management.
Cat Rentals is now connected to a larger experience ecosystem that integrates with cat.com and VisionLink. Customers will also have access to the CAT AI Assistant later this year.
“The new Cat Rentals identity is about helping customers show up with the right equipment at the jobsite and getting the project done, no matter the size or complexity,” the company said in a release.
Cat® CVA introduces a next-day commitment for parts
Cat’s Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) have changed as well. The new Services Commitment simplifies equipment ownership, and its Parts Next-Day commitment allows customers to quickly get equipment repaired when required.
The CAT CVA is customized to address specific customer needs and provide access to equipment coverage, portability, and easy transferability. Contractors can also quickly access the insights they need with equipment health management tools such as VisionLink and Cat Inspect.
“Our new Services Commitment program with a CVA is all about offering the customer hassle-free, peace-of-mind equipment ownership,” said Ebban Clause, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Caterpillar’s construction industries services division. “Customers dealing with downtime need to act fast, and they need parts to get the equipment up and running quickly. Our new Services Commitment delivers just that – Two-Day Repairs, Parts Next-Day, or the customer gets paid.”
Customers can also get expert advice and support from their local Cat dealer and opt for scheduled planned maintenance at a location of their choosing. The global rollout of CVAs with the new Services Commitment will start in the first quarter of 2026 and continue through 2027.
Caterpillar’s new Cat Rentals tools will likely make it easier and faster for contractors to locate, rent, and track machines, minimizing downtime resulting from slow logistics. The updated CVA Services Commitment, meanwhile, will help prevent work from stalling due to breakdowns. Together, these changes can help crews work more efficiently and stay on schedule and within budget, ensuring their projects run smoothly.
