Milwaukee opens $60 million facility in Grenada County

Milwaukee Tool expanded its U.S. manufacturing footprint by opening a $60 million facility in Grenada, Mississippi. The 500,000-square-foot plant partially opened in late 2022 and supports the company’s growing power tool and accessories division. Once fully operational, the project is expected to create nearly 1,200 jobs, with 800 positions at the Grenada facility and 400 across other Mississippi locations. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for this new facility took place on October 2, 2024.

Steve Richman, Milwaukee Tool Group President, said the investment will enable the company to better serve customers with enhanced innovation and speed. He also added, “We’re thrilled to continue expanding our presence in Mississippi, where we have been fortunate to attract, retain, and recruit some of the best talent in the country.” The plant is expected to employ 800 people to produce cordless screwdrivers, drills, electric saws, and more.

As part of its ongoing commitment to U.S. manufacturing, the CEO of Milwaukee Tool, Joe Galli, highlighted the importance of domestic production amid the company’s global sales growth of over 20% per year. Over the past decade, the company has increased its workforce in Mississippi from 526 in 2010 to over 2,343. In addition, Milwaukee Tool has invested $368 million in domestic expansion projects and now employs 5,500 people across the U.S.

Clearly, U.S. manufacturing has always been and will continue to be, a cornerstone of Milwaukee Tool’s global strategy, driving growth and innovation across its product lines.
