DEWALT introduces POWERSHIFT™, an electrified line of heavy-duty tools

After conducting their Power Pulse Survey earlier in 2024, DEWALT determined that more than 75% of construction professionals report that their job sites are ready to transition to electric-powered tools. In response to their customer’s needs, the new POWERSHIFT™ line has officially hit retailers through commercial and industrial channels, and users can shop from a selection of 8 new electrified products.

The groundbreaking product launch stems from DEWALT’s commitment to electrification without compromising the power of gas-operated equipment. DEWALT is a leader in jobsite solutions, and this product line is meant to smooth the transition to electric equipment, focusing on maintaining runtime, power, and ergonomics.

Frank Mannarino, President, Power Tools Group, Stanley Black & Decker, states, “DEWALT POWERSHIFT™ is launching at a time when the industry is increasingly preparing for electrification, particularly as construction sites respond to statewide legislation aimed at phasing out gas-powered tools. As part of this effort, DEWALT is providing a solution that electrifies the concrete workflow to maximize cost and time savings, while minimizing the environmental impact for the user. These user advantages are paramount to innovating in accordance with our purpose to empower Those Who Make the World.”

The announcement follows DEWALT’s 100th anniversary. The POWERSHIFT line will include:

  • POWERSHIFT™ 554Wh Battery
  • POWERSHIFT™ 550W Charger
  • Flexvolt® to Dewalt Powershift™ Adapter
  • POWERSHIFT™ Rammer
  • POWERSHIFT™ Plate Compactor
  • POWERSHIFT™ Oower Vibrator
  • POWERSHIFT™ Backpack Vibrator
  • POWERSHIFT™ Screed
  • POWERSHIFT™ Core Drill & Stand

It will also come with integrated connectivity to the DEWALT site manager app, which provides data on tool location, utilization, safety, and asset management.

Other insights from DEWALT’s Power Pulse Survey reveal that 89% of construction professionals are confident in their job site’s ability to support more electric-powered tooling. The survey found that 68% of respondents cited that switching partially to electric-powered tools has enabled them to do their jobs two to three times faster than gas-powered tools, and 72% of respondents say they are more than satisfied with electrification efforts on the job site so far.

Although electrification has perks, respondents also report a lack of training and resources on electric equipment education and a struggle to commit to newly implemented sustainability regulations.
