DeWALT Trak-It® C6 Gas Concrete Nailer

Written By Mariah Moore

DeWALT’s highly anticipated Trak-It® C6 Gas Concrete Nailer hit the shelves in the fall of 2024 and hasn’t disappointed. The tool shares the same fasteners and pins as the DeWALT Cordless Concrete Nailer (CCN) and the same angled collation. The fuel cells contain enough gas to power up to 1,000 fasteners, and the tool was developed for general light-duty applications like attaching drywall to lightweight concrete, steel, or block.

The kit from the DeWALT website includes the tool itself, the DG8454 Trak-It® C6 1-1/2″ Magazine, a DGN8453 Standard/Drwall Contact Trip, and a kit box. Special features include the adjustable depth control on the tool’s nose piece, the dust and corrosion-resistant tool manifolds, the LED maintenance indicator, the ergonomic handle, and simple magazine swapping. This tool is available with DeWalt’s Stick-E™ accessories, and the maximum initial battery voltage is 20 volts.

This concrete nailer’s magazine is high-capacity, fastening 443 linear feet of drywall track at a time. Thanks to the angled orientation, users can work in tight or small spaces. The contact trips are easily changed or removed, requiring no tools and work interruptions. The three compatible contact trip options include Stick-E™, magnetized Stick-E™, and drywall. The fasteners for this new C6 model perform better than the previous Trak-It® C5 model, but this new C6 nailer is not backward compatible with the previous fasteners themselves.

Additional uses for the gas concrete nailer could include attaching lath to block or concrete, furring strips to block or concrete, and block base materials to plywood. The Stick-E™ assemblies are uniquely produced design components that enable the tool to support various fastening applications. DeWALT developed the C6 nailer with users in mind, focusing on efficiency, consistency, and speed.
