Taking travel to the next level: Nokken

Nokken is a unique builder in the hospitality space. It offers small buildings that combine the best in design with eco-conscious and considerate products. The company aims to allow guests to stay in nature without harming the environment.

The demand for travel for experience over expense inspires these eco-conscious cabins. Hotel offerings, including how they’re built and where they’re located, are starting to follow suit. Nokken focuses on building modular accommodations that are flexible, scalable, and quickly disassembled and reassembled as needed.

Vacation destinations can order from Nokken, starting with a simple cabin or two and continuing to order pieces until they reach the desired amount. The process begins with drawing up the release for building permits, starting production, confirming transport, and then shipping the cabins on their way.

Sustainability with every stay

The goal is to provide guests with a sense of natural balance through a simplistic, honest design. These cabins are designed to give humans what they lack in the modern world: the immediacy of nature combined with modern and contemporary conveniences.

The Nokken cabins are built with FSC-certified timber, with most structural components made from CLT (cross-laminated timber). This structurally strong and sustainable way of using wood is becoming increasingly common in construction. Because Nokken cabins are delivered modularly, as one complete unit, they take one trip on a truck versus using exorbitant amounts of gasoline to drive multiple trucks of equipment to complete construction on-site.

A beautiful, bold collaboration with BIG

Nokken’s newest collaboration with Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) offers a new 195-square-foot softshell cabin with a practical and beautiful design for the eco-conscious hospitality space. The sleek and functional base includes a base plate, a durable frame, and canvas. The upgraded version consists of a bedhead, a ladder, and a cargo net to make the cabin a more complete natural haven for travelers.

The NKN-Softshell, the BIG collaboration, is available for preorder. It’s perfect for eco-resorts, glamping sites, and boutique hotels.
