Lawn care can be a difficult task, but it’s one that’s made easier, and sometimes a downright pleasure if you’ve got the right equipment. A battery-powered lawn mower means no cord, no hassle, and no problems. If you’re in the market for a new piece of equipment, this article covers everything you need to know about the best battery-powered lawn mowers for homeowners or landscapers, including the Craftsman V20, the Ryobi 40V, and the Ego Power+.

Our picks of the best battery-powered lawn mowers for home and commercial use

1. Worx 40V 17″ Lawn Mower WG743: Best overall battery powered lawn mover

Worx 40V 17" Battery powered Lawn Mower
ProsCons
– More torque on demand with IntelliCut™
– Dual-port charger for fast charging
– 2-in-1 mulching or bagging functionality
– Maneuvering with the IntelliCut™ technology takes some getting used to

Key features

  • Adjustable torque
  • Cut-to-edge design for cutting near obstacles and fencing
  • 7-position blade height adjustments for any lawn

The Worx 40V 17” battery powered lawn mower is our all-around pick because it auto-adjusts torque, charges quickly, and is easily stored. This mower offers seven blade height positions for any job, and even mulches and bags in one sweep. It’s a great mid-range size for maneuvering in tight spaces and covering plenty of surface area for bigger jobs. It’s 40V of reliable, consistent power.

“The very best mower for tight and small areas. Compact in size. Cuts like the big ones. Stores easily. Price was perfect. Purchased to cut in a child’s play area where a rider couldn’t fit. Shortened the weed-eating time because this mower gets where a regular mower couldn’t. Could also be used in larger areas.” – Verified user from Best Buy.

Some users, however, cite that the automatic IntelliCut™ is tricky to activate and use, so it might not be the best choice for those who prefer older technology. That being said, it’s a great catch-all mower that any operator can rely on for both home and commercial use.
