Buildots introduces DOT, AI assistant for construction site updates

Written By Sarah Poirier

Buildots has unveiled DOT, an interactive AI assistant explicitly designed for real-time updates on construction projects. By processing data collected from construction sites, DOT can respond directly to questions like “What’s the current status of drywall on the fifth floor?” or “Which tasks are behind schedule?” DOT provides on-the-spot answers, offering a straightforward way to track site progress and potential delays.

Real-time project monitoring made simple

DOT’s biggest advantage is the simplicity it brings to construction management. Rather than sifting through spreadsheets or reports, team members can ask DOT specific questions and get instant responses. This lets managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders quickly pinpoint the latest project status. By reducing the time spent on manual updates, DOT frees personnel to focus on other important on-site tasks.

Enhanced data accessibility and productivity for the whole team

With DOT, Buildots makes data accessible for everyone involved. The assistant’s ability to understand project-specific questions lets teams communicate better, regardless of each person’s background or expertise. Workers can ask DOT for progress updates directly, while managers use it to confirm the completion status of scheduled tasks, keeping everyone informed and on the same page.

DOT can also identify patterns that might signal a delay, enabling site managers to address issues proactively. If a task is lagging, DOT can alert supervisors, allowing them to redirect resources if needed. This AI assistant helps teams stay ahead of potential setbacks by providing continuous oversight.

How DOT improves on Buildots’ tech

DOT builds on Buildots’ existing suite of tools, which already uses AI and 360-degree cameras to capture and interpret site data. DOT takes this tech further by acting as a user-friendly interface for instant access to updates. The assistant’s integration with Buildots’ data platform makes it a powerful companion for real-time site monitoring, enhancing visibility and efficiency.

Bottom line

DOT by Buildots takes a hands-on, immediate approach to site management, supporting teams with accessible and actionable project insights. Sign up for our weekly newsletter to stay up to date with innovative construction tech.
