Caterpillar’s new lineup aims to help contractors work safely and more efficiently
At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, Caterpillar unveiled a range of new machines designed to improve safety, versatility, and productivity on jobsites. Each machine in the lineup is built to help contractors work more efficiently in tight spaces and challenging conditions.
The products include the Cat TUL100 compact utility loader, Cat 253 compact truck loader, Cat 301 CR mini excavator, Cat 319 hydraulic excavator, and next-generation Cat articulated trucks.
Compact utility and track loaders
Cat TUL100 compact utility loader (CUL)

Powered by a 24 hp Cat C1.1 turbo diesel engine and supported by a robust hydraulic system, the TUL100 delivers strong performance in a compact package. With a 1,000-lb operating capacity and 36-inch and 42-inch track width options for maneuverability in tight spaces, the machine supports a wide range of attachments—including augers, power box rakes, trenchers, buckets, and forks—making it well-suited for landscaping, utility work, and projects in confined areas. It’s expected to be available across North America in early 2027.
Cat 253 compact track loader (CTL)

Compared to the 259D3, the 253 CTL features a redesigned carriage with rigid, frame-mounted axles and a next-generation one-piece undercarriage frame that improves traction and stability across a variety of jobsite conditions. Powered by an electronically controlled Cat 3.3B turbo diesel engine, the machine delivers a standard hydraulic flow of 20 gpm, with an optional high-flow package available in select regions for enhanced attachment performance. The CTL also includes a sealed, pressurized cab with adjustable joystick controls designed to improve operator comfort while maintaining a quieter working environment. The 253 CTL is slated for release in the second half of 2026.
Mini excavators offer compact power
Cat 301 CR mini excavator

The Cat 301 CR mini excavator features a compact-radius design and shares the same engine platform as other Cat compact models, making it easier to operate within a fleet. Built on a 1-ton platform, it offers a 71.7-inch digging depth, seat-mounted pilot controls, a folding ROPS, two-speed travel, a new gauge cluster, improved stability, and auxiliary hydraulic options. Compatible attachments—including a manual coupler, A13 auger, B1 hammer, and trenching and cleanup buckets—make it well suited for narrow trenches, low-clearance areas, and urban utility work. The 301 CR is expected to be available in early 2027.
Hayden Murray, global director of compact products at Caterpillar, offered more insights into the company’s latest suite of products.
“The new Cat TUL100 compact utility loader, 253 compact track loader, and 301 CR mini excavator are examples of how Caterpillar provides solutions for today’s worksite needs as well as works with our customers to provide more solutions to tackle tomorrow’s challenges,” he said. “We look forward to unveiling at CONEXPO-CON/AGG what we will have in store for customers later this year and into early 2027.”
Medium hydraulic excavator
Cat 319 excavator

The Cat 319, built on the Next Generation platform, features a 2.8-metre undercarriage and a 133-hp Cat C3.6 engine. Designed with a compact footprint and short swing radius, it offers Smart, Eco, and Power operating modes. Smart mode automatically balances engine and hydraulic output based on working conditions, Eco mode reduces fuel consumption, and Power mode maximizes productivity when extra performance is needed. Overall, the Cat 319 delivers heavy-duty performance in a compact frame, making it well-suited for construction, road maintenance, and utility work.
“Worksite efficiency and productivity is hugely influenced by operator confidence,” said Brian Stellbrink, a senior marketing professional at Caterpillar. “Confidence to operate in tight spaces, confident handling of heavy loads, confident visibility, confidence in power – all these aspects are addressed in the 319, helping improve safety, precision, and efficiency across the jobsite.”
Next-generation articulated trucks
In addition to excavators and CTLS, Caterpillar has also introduced its next-generation line of Cat articulated trucks, including the 725, 730, 730 EJ, and 735 models. Key features include:
- Advanced automatic traction control to improve performance and safety on poor ground conditions
- Automatic Retarder Control (ARC) for braking and engine speed maintenance
- Redesigned dump bodies for real-time payload monitoring
- Stability Assist and Auto Wait Brake (AWB) to prevent rollback and improve safety
These upgrades enhance productivity, reduce operator error, and make challenging job-site conditions safer and more manageable.
Caterpillar’s commitment to innovation and jobsite productivity
Caterpillar’s latest lineup showcased at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation, safety, and productivity across a wide range of jobsite applications. From compact loaders and mini excavators to heavy-duty articulated dump trucks, each machine is engineered to help operators work efficiently in tight spaces, handle challenging conditions, and complete projects with greater precision. With these new offerings, Caterpillar continues to provide contractors with versatile, reliable solutions designed to meet the evolving demands of modern construction sites.
