Daimler Truck’s all-electric truck brand, RIZON, is making tracks on Canadian soil. Villamar Construction, based in Victoria, BC, was the first to receive a RIZON dump-body truck, an e18L, to build custom homes. The e18L is the first of 18 RIZON trucks making their way to Canadian customers in BC and Quebec.

RIZON offers four models for the Canadian market: the e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M. The trucks can get up to 257 kilometres of range on a single charge for L variants with three battery packs, while M models with two battery packs have a range of up to 177 kilometers. The gross vehicle weight runs from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds.
RIZON’s product line is ideal for those in landscaping and related fields. It provides ample truck bed space for hauling equipment and tools, plus interior comfort features like air conditioning, drive controls, a multifunction display, powertrain control, keyless start, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The RIZON electric product line marks Daimler’s entry into the North American electric truck market, and the company says it marks a crucial milestone in commercial electric vehicles (EV). “This handover marks a significant step for Daimler Truck in bringing zero-emission commercial vehicles to Canadian businesses,” says Andreas Deuschle, the Global Head of RIZON Truck. “Commercial EVs are no longer a future concept—they’re here, hitting the road and serving in communities across Canada.”
