It’s not “gay” to… drink cocktails

Your work week is over, and you’ve been invited by your crew to go out for drinks. Everyone orders the usual: beers, shots, or something stiff on the rocks. And you order… A Sea Breeze with extra grapefruit juice.

Sound like your personal nightmare? Raise your hand if you’ve ever ordered a beer or whiskey neat just because your boys are and choke it down pretending like you’re actually enjoying it. Don’t be embarrassed, we know a few of you have.

And while nothing’s wrong with not liking beer—I mean, who really wants a beer belly—don’t lie to yourself and pretend you like it because it’s the “cool” thing to do. There’s nothing cool about being fake.

If you prefer a classic cocktail, don’t shy away from your truth. Cocktails have come a long way from the fruity, rainbow-hued nightmares of the past.

But here’s the problem: Most men still refuse the allure of the cocktail bar. It’s just too gay. And to be seen with a Blue Hawaii in your hand?! Hell no, that’s way too flamboyant for your masculine image.

And here’s our question to you: why limit yourself to beer and liquor? There’s a whole world of flavors out there that you’re missing out on by thinking that drinking cocktails is gay.

In fact, being open to the repertoire of amazing cocktails can open you up to a sophisticated mixology experience. Don’t believe us? Just ask the Rock.

Cocktails have an amazing range—choose a classic like an Old Fashioned or indulge in a higher-tier cocktail to introduce your palate to pure luxury. After a long day on the job site, don’t you deserve a taste of the good life?

Having a cocktail is about more than just enjoying a drink or sipping on sugar.

They’re about craftsmanship and skill

Today’s cocktails are a far cry from the Dude’s White Russians. Crafting a perfect cocktail is an art form. It takes skill, precision, and a good palate to balance the right flavors. From muddling mint for a Mojito to mastering the perfect shake for a Martini, making cocktails is a sophisticated hobby. It’s an opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship behind a well-made drink.

They’re also about exploring new flavors

Cocktails open up a world of flavors. Whether it’s the bitter notes of a Negroni or the refreshing taste of a Margarita, there’s something for every palate. Experimenting with different cocktails can be a fun way to expand your taste horizons.

And as a bonus, you’ll get an enhanced social experience

Cocktails can elevate any social gathering. They’re conversation starters, they’re fun to make, and they can be a gateway to discovering new flavors and combinations. Sharing a cocktail with friends can be a great bonding experience, turning a regular night out into something memorable.

  • Dean Martin: Frequently seen with a classic Martini.
  • Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson: Enjoys tequila-based cocktails like the Margarita. He even has his own line of Tequila!

These iconic figures didn’t let societal norms or peer pressure dictate their drink choices:

So next time you’re out or relaxing at home, go ahead and order that cocktail. And if you’re feeling extra ballsy, why not hit BUY on that cocktail recipe book you’ve been secretly eyeing for ages. It’s time to break down stereotypes and enjoy new experiences. Cheers!
