Toronto’s skyline just reached a brand-new peak. On March 5, 2026, Pinnacle International confirmed that Pinnacle SkyTower has hit its top floor, making it officially the tallest building in Canada and the very first residential tower in North America to reach 106 storeys.

For the construction industry, this is a massive leap in engineering. Standing at 351.85 metres, the tower’s highest floor now sits level with the CN Tower’s main observation deck. Managing the vertical logistics of a project this size has served as a real-world masterclass for the contractors and engineers on-site.

Quick facts

  • Total Storeys: 106
  • Final Height: 351.85 m (1,154 ft)
  • Residential Units: 958
  • Key Partners: Pinnacle International (Developer), Hariri Pontarini Architects (Design)
  • Status: Topped out as of March 5, 2026

A new anchor for the Toronto waterfront

Pinnacle SkyTower is the centerpiece of the Pinnacle One Yonge master-planned community. This 4.4-million-square-foot project is transforming a major stretch of the waterfront into a hub for living, working, and visiting.

Once finished, the tower will be much more than a structural landmark. It will house:

  • 958 luxury residences: Fully customized homes with high-end finishes.
  • Le Méridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel: A new destination for world-class hospitality.
  • 80,000 sq. ft. of amenities: Including a signature restaurant perched on the 106th floor.

“Now that we’ve reached the 106-storey mark, you can really feel the momentum accelerating,” says Anson Kwok, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Pinnacle International. He notes that the project sets a “new standard for luxury living in Toronto,” offering a rare chance to live at the country’s highest point.

Aerodynamics and diamond-shaped geometry

The design, led by Hariri Pontarini Architects, is a mix of high-stakes physics and modern art. Because the building stands over 1,100 feet tall, it features a unique 12-sided, tapered form with an aerodynamic profile to handle intense wind loads.

Visually, the architects blended soft, waterfront-inspired curves with sharper, diamond-shaped geometry. This allows for expansive balconies up to the 88th floor and massive floor-to-ceiling windows, giving residents an immersive experience of Lake Ontario and the downtown core.

The final push toward 2026 completion

Now that the heavy lifting of the structure is done, the focus shifts to the interior. Teams are busy installing complex mechanical systems and luxe finishes throughout the vertical community. Pinnacle International plans to host an official topping-off ceremony later this year to honor the project team and the thousands of tradespeople who made this historic height a reality.

Pinnacle SkyTower is on track for completion by the end of 2026, permanently changing the limits of residential construction in North America.
