Scotiabank Arena Reimagination Project new features unveiled by MLSE

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) continues work on its $350 million Scotiabank Arena Reimagination Project, recently announcing the completion of several parts of Phase 2. The newly completed elements in Phase 2 feature several significant changes to amenities located primarily on the 100-level concourse. The work was completed from May to October 2024 and executed in collaboration with Brisbin, Brook, Beynon Architects, DesignAgency, the owner’s representative firm CAA ICON, and the construction manager, PCL Construction.

Work on Scotiabank Arena included a modern makeover for the 100-Level Concourse, including the installation of more LED screens and the addition of “atmosphere-changing” digital beacons. Gate 1 was expanded to cover a larger area, making it easier for fans to enter the arena, and is covered with floor-to-ceiling LED screens.

The newly constructed MNP Pass Social Club is an exclusive, members-only restaurant and lounge in the area that used to be the arena’s Event Level suites. The 7350-square-foot Social Club offers immersive dining and viewing experiences with player tunnels running through the space. Members can view Maple Leaf players and visiting teams entering the ice and watch the Raptors enter from the walkout nearby. The social club can seat 200 patrons in its “upscale casual” environment.

A second, larger Real Sports Apparel store has also been added to the Scotiabank Arena retail area. In addition to items featuring your favorite player, you’ll be able to find jerseys and skates worn by your favorite player because the 2600-square-foot retail space will also sell game-used equipment.

In the 200 Level, the Hot Stove Restaurant has received a “floor-to-ceiling” update, marrying modern design with historic features. The restaurant also gains a new exterior entrance.

The arena has also received several high-tech upgrades, including additional self-serve features. More concession stands will be equipped with Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology, and many retail locations will offer contactless payments, meaning a shorter wait for fans hoping to get back to the action. A new audio system delivers crisp, bold sound through over 150 speakers.

In a press release, MLSE President and CEO Keith Pelley said, “As fans make their way into Scotiabank Arena this season, we look forward to them experiencing a transformed and enhanced space as part of our commitment to providing one of the top sports and entertainment venues in the world. Continually ranked as the top venue in the country, this investment from our ownership will allow us to reimagine and modernize one of the most important gathering places in our city for our players, performers, employees, and most importantly, our fans.”

The final part of the Scotiabank Arena Reimagination Project’s Phase 2 is scheduled for completion in spring 2025. It will include remodeling the Molson Brewhouse and installing frictionless security screening at the arena gates for fast, secure entry.
