Silver Dollar City unveils $500M resort and expansion

Written By Alex Klocek

Silver Dollar City, one of Missouri’s premier theme parks, has announced a $500 million expansion to transform 1,200 acres of land next to the park. This expansion is the largest in Silver Dollar City’s 65-year history. It includes the development of a new resort and added attractions designed to make the park an even better destination in the Midwest.

The centerpiece of this expansion is the new Silver Dollar City Resort, the first of its kind in the region. The resort will feature 262 guest rooms with views of the Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake, offering a unique getaway experience that embraces the area’s natural beauty. Scheduled to open in late 2026, the resort will include amenities such as indoor and outdoor pools, a full-service restaurant, and 17,000 square feet of meeting space, catering to leisure travelers and business groups.

The project is expected to have a substantial economic impact on the region, with thousands of jobs created during the construction phase and increased tourism once the resort is operational. Missouri Governor Mike Parson has strongly supported the project, noting its potential to boost the local economy and attract millions of visitors.

The expansive development will celebrate the Ozarks’ culture and history in addition to the resort, offering attractions that align with the amusement parks reputation for craftsmanship, discovery, and family-friendly fun. While specific details about additional attractions have not been disclosed, the park’s goal is to create an “only-in-the-Ozarks” experience, adding value for guests and enhancing the region’s tourism appeal.

As construction progresses, Silver Dollar City plans to release more details on room options, guest perks, and added resort amenities. This ambitious expansion marks a new chapter for the theme park, positioning it as a premier destination in the heart of the Midwest for years to come.
