Steelwrist is doubling down on the North American market by expanding its headquarters in Newington, Connecticut, and appointing Peter Gaj as the new Vice President for the Americas. This move is designed to deliver equipment faster and provide better local support to contractors moving toward more efficient job-site tools. By expanding its local assembly and distribution, Steelwrist is making it easier for operators to access the latest tiltrotator technology.
Growing deep roots in Connecticut
The expansion of the Newington facility is a major milestone for the company. Instead of waiting for overseas equipment shipments, many Steelwrist products will now be assembled and supported right here in the United States. This local investment means shorter wait times for parts and faster delivery of new units.
For a busy contractor, time is money. This facility expansion shows that Steelwrist is committed to being a long-term partner for the North American construction industry. With more inventory on hand and a larger team on the ground, they can respond to customer needs much faster than before.
Leadership for a growing market
To lead this new chapter, Steelwrist has appointed Peter Gaj as the Vice President for Region Americas, starting February 1. Peter brings a wealth of experience to the role and has led the local sales team for the past three years. His appointment comes at a time when more operators are realizing the benefits of tiltrotators and automatic quick couplers.
As job sites become more complex, the demand for “intelligent” attachments is rising. Peter’s goal is to work closely with the global team to strengthen the market presence and ensure that local operations meet customer demand.
The shift toward automation
The investment in Connecticut is a direct response to changes in North American job sites. More firms are moving away from traditional hitches toward automatic quick couplers like the Steelwrist SQ system. These tools allow operators to change hydraulic attachments in seconds without leaving the cab.
Combining an automatic coupler with a tiltrotator creates a multi-tool excavator, reducing the need for extra ground workers and cutting down on fuel waste. The momentum Steelwrist is building suggests that these “smart” attachments will soon be the standard for any high-production job site in the region.
What to expect at CONEXPO 2026
Steelwrist is getting ready for a massive showing at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas from March 3-7. This will be the place to see their latest innovations in action at booth F27055. The company plans to conduct live demonstrations of its third-generation XTR tiltrotators, which deliver greater strength and improved control.
Visitors will also see the North American debut of the SQ40 automatic coupler. This new model is designed for smaller excavators, bringing “big machine energy” to the compact market. This momentum signals a bright future for equipment innovation, where productivity and safety are at the center of every design.
