Building Talent Foundation teams up with Florida State Hispanic Chamber to empower Hispanic construction companies and workers

Building Talent Foundation (BTF) and the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FSHCC) have announced a strategic partnership to drive growth for Hispanic construction companies and workers in Florida. This collaboration, supported by Lennar, aligns with both organizations’ missions to expand workforce development and promote sustainable careers in the construction industry.

BTF and FSHCC will use their combined resources and networks to connect Hispanic-owned construction businesses with valuable training, workforce opportunities, and educational programs through this partnership. The initiative will support young Hispanic workers looking for career pathways in the construction sector to meet the industry’s growing demands.

Hispanic workers comprise approximately 34% of the national construction workforce. In Florida, however, this percentage is much higher—Hispanics account for about 59% of the workforce. This highlights their crucial role in the state’s construction industry, which ranks as the third-largest industry for Hispanic employment.

“This collaboration with Building Talent Foundation is a crucial step in helping our members strengthen their teams,” said Julio Fuentes, President and CEO of FSHCC. “By working together, we will impact both Hispanic businesses and communities in Florida.”

Jeremy Susac, Vice President of Government Affairs at Lennar, expressed his support for the alliance, stating, “Lennar truly appreciates the leadership and focus of both the FSCC and Building Talent Foundation. We applaud the strategic alliance between BTF for the betterment of Florida’s construction industry.”

As Florida’s construction industry continues to expand, the partnership between BTF and FSHCC is a crucial investment in the state’s Hispanic communities. By providing pathways for training, mentorship, and career advancement, the partnership is set to create a long-term impact, aligning Hispanic construction professionals for continued success.
