Building the future: how DeWALT’s “Grow the Trades” campaign supports construction’s next generation

DeWALT has launched its Grow the Trades campaign to address a critical challenge: inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in construction. With labor shortages affecting the industry, the initiative aims to bridge the gap by offering meaningful resources and programs for young workers.

What the program offers

At its heart, Grow the Trades emphasizes education, training, and mentorship. DeWALT has partnered with schools, trade organizations, and construction companies to provide tools, scholarships, and apprenticeship opportunities. These resources help aspiring tradespeople develop the hands-on skills needed to succeed while exposing them to the benefits of a career in the skilled trades.  

The campaign highlights construction as an essential and rewarding field. By showcasing real-world applications, DeWALT aims to change perceptions and encourage more young people to see the trades as a viable and exciting career path. Through digital resources and on-the-ground events, students can learn about opportunities in carpentry and welding, as well as advanced technologies like green building and robotics.  

An impressive feature of Grow the Trades is its scholarship program, which reduces financial barriers for students entering trade schools or apprenticeships. By easing this burden, DeWALT allows more individuals to access training programs and pursue careers they may not have otherwise considered.
