The Tennessee Titans are getting a new home, one that’s set to change the face of downtown Nashville and boost the city’s status as a major sports and entertainment hub. Construction has officially begun on the new Nashville Nissan Stadium, a $2.1 billion enclosed venue that will seat approximately 60,000 fans and is designed with future Super Bowls and large-scale events in mind.
Located just east of the current Nissan Stadium, the new state-of-the-art stadium is scheduled to open in time for the 2027 NFL season. The project is being led by the Tennessee Builders Alliance, a joint venture that includes Turner Construction Company and AECOM Hunt, two heavyweights in the stadium-building ecosystem. The new venue is being built as a multipurpose destination, with the kind of flexibility and luxury that appeals to both die-hard fans and casual eventgoers.
The design is led by MANICA Architecture, with support from Atlanta-based TVS. One of the standout features of the new Nashville Nissan Stadium will be the domed roof, allowing the Titans to play in climate-controlled comfort year-round. This also opens the door for Nashville to bid on high-profile events like the Super Bowl, College Football Playoff games, Final Fours, and large concerts without having to worry about the weather.
Despite being enclosed, the new stadium will still offer open-air concourses with views of the city skyline and the Cumberland River. Inside, fans can expect a range of premium seating options, including luxury suites, club lounges, and social spaces, all designed to create a more immersive and connected experience on game day.
“It is going to be a beautiful, one‑of‑a‑kind, Nashville character building… every experience in the building… will be a world‑class experience… different fan expectations… We want something incredible for Nashville,” said Titans president and CEO Burke Nihill.
The design of the new stadium takes cues from Nashville itself, drawing on its music roots, local character, and natural landscape. Materials and aesthetics nod to the city’s identity, for a space that feels authentic and rooted in place. The project also puts an emphasis on building for the long haul, with an eye toward sustainability and thoughtful use of resources.
When it’s finished, the new Nissan Stadium will anchor a 130-acre riverfront redevelopment, part of a broader vision to transform East Bank into a vibrant mix of green space, entertainment, and residential areas. With its eye on both the future of the Titans and the growth of Nashville, this stadium is a community investment.
