Volvo CE put on a show in Las Vegas for CONEXPO 2026 with a huge 55,000-square-foot booth and a clear mission to power your ambition. Since the last show, the Volvo Group has updated 40% of its entire portfolio. Their much-anticipated display featured more than 20 machines, including 14 models that are either brand-new or making their very first public appearance. From electric excavators to diesel powered trucks, here are the top models Volvo CE announced at CONEXPO 2026.
The all-new Volvo EC560 excavator
One of the show’s biggest stars is the Volvo EC560 excavator. This 56-ton machine is a brand-new model designed specifically for heavy production work in quarries and large-scale infrastructure projects. It is built to carry a 6-cubic-yard bucket, the largest in its size class, which allows operators to move up to 25% more material per hour with fewer passes. This increased capacity is supported by a heavier counterweight at the rear, providing the stability needed for mass excavation.
The EC560 features a completely redesigned “F model” cab that prioritizes the operator’s physical well-being. The workspace is significantly wider and more spacious, ensuring that operators of various sizes have ample legroom to use the floor pedals effectively without cramping.
To help maintain focus during long shifts, Volvo has introduced several premium comfort features:
- Climate-controlled seating: The seat includes an integrated heating and cooling system, allowing the operator to stay comfortable regardless of external quarry conditions.
- Ergonomic interface: The cabin uses a new Human Machine Interface (HMI) that simplifies machine control.
- Simplified monitoring: Volvo has moved from a dual-screen setup to a single, consolidated display. This high-definition monitor combines machine health data with the Dig Assist program, providing a much clearer and cleaner sightline toward the front of the machine.

Despite its size, the EC560 is designed for precision. It features an optimized electro-hydraulic system that delivers a 10% increase in swing torque and 3% more digging force than previous models. The new intelligent hydraulics monitor operator movements through electronic sensors, sending signals to the on-board computer to regulate engine speed and flow rates based on the task. This results in smoother movements and up to 15% less fuel consumption.
Safety remains a central focus, as the improved cab visibility and the Boundary feature within Volvo Active Control help prevent collisions. Operators can set depth, height, and swing limits to protect underground utilities or overhead power lines while working in tight spots. While it is a highlight of the 2026 show, this machine is slated for commercial availability in early 2027.
Smart updates for Volvo CE wheel loaders
Volvo is also introducing some impressive updates across its wheel loader family to boost safety and profitability.
The heavy-duty Volvo L350H wheel loader

Volvo’s flagship loader, the L350, has received a massive power boost. This isn’t a machine for light tasks like cleaning ditches; it is built for the high-intensity demands of mining sites and busy port operations. Weighing in at 120,000 pounds, it is a heavyweight champion that brings 558 horsepower to every shift.
The biggest change is under the hood. The newest L350H models now run on a powerful Volvo D17 engine. This 17-liter powerhouse uses wave piston technology to provide more torque even at lower speeds. For operators, this means smoother work in tough environments and faster boom movements. Best of all, this new setup delivers more power while using up to 5% less fuel, helping to lower the total cost of ownership.
The machine showcased at ConExpo is designed with a long boom configuration. This specialized setup allows the loader to easily reach over the sides of 60, 70, and 100-ton rigid frame trucks. To keep these trucks moving quickly, the L350H typically uses a massive 9.5 to 9.7-yard bucket, which can fill a hauler in just a few quick passes.
For those in the forestry industry, Volvo also offers a specialized log-loader version. This configuration features a massive grapple that is strong enough to scoop up and unload an entire truckload of logs in a single motion.
- Mid-sized loaders – Models like the L60, L70, and L90 now feature Reverse By Braking (RBB) and OptiShift technology. These smart systems can improve fuel efficiency by up to 15% by reducing driveline and brake wear.
- Electric offerings – Volvo continues to lead in battery power with machines like the L120 Electric and L25 Electric. These are perfect for jobs where you need to keep noise and emissions low, like indoor demolition or night shifts in the city.
Compaction made easy with the SD70 soil compactor

For contractors who need reliable performance at a great price, Volvo has launched the SD70 soil compactor. This 7-ton roller is a smart choice for rental fleets and smaller job sites. It uses the same proven drum design as the larger SD75 model, so you know it will get the soil packed down correctly every time. It is built to be simple to service and very durable, which helps keep operating costs down over the long run.
Volvo Trucks introduces the VHD 300 dump truck
Volvo Trucks North America unveiled the Volvo VHD 300 dump truck. The exterior of the VHD 300 is designed for high-visibility and extreme utility. It features a rugged front bumper with a center tow pin rated for a full 80,000 pounds, ensuring the truck can be pulled out of adverse situations with ease. The front grille is stationary, which allows you to install front-mounted tools like snowplows or hose reels without interfering with engine access. Even the lighting is built for the elements: the LED headlights include integrated heating elements that automatically melt away ice and snow in freezing weather.
One of the best things about the VHD 300 is its flexibility. You can choose between an axle-back or axle-forward design depending on what your project needs. The axle-back version is perfect for tight job sites where you need a short turning radius, while the axle-forward version helps you stay compliant with “bridge laws” that regulate weight distribution over certain distances.

Under the hood, you have two powerful options:
- The 11-liter D11 engine: Provides between 325 and 405 horsepower.
- The 13-liter D13 engine: Delivers up to 500 horsepower and a massive 1,850 lb-ft of torque.
The VHD 300 uses the I-Shift transmission, which is available in 12, 13, or 14-speed configurations. The 14-speed option is a game-changer for precision work, as it features crawler gears that allow the truck to move at speeds as low as 0.6 mph. This is ideal for specialized tasks like curb pouring or asphalt paving where slow, steady movement is critical.
Driving is also much less taxing thanks to Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS). This system uses an electric motor to add extra torque to the steering gear, virtually eliminating the jarring “kicks” and vibrations from rough terrain. It makes the steering so light that even a fully loaded truck can be moved with one-finger operation at low speeds, significantly reducing arm and shoulder strain during a long shift.
The chassis is built for durability, with tandem rear axle capacities reaching up to 58,000 lbs. To keep the wheels planted on uneven ground, the truck utilizes the T-Ride suspension. This system uses parabolic leaf springs and torque rods to provide roughly 17 inches of articulation, ensuring the axles maintain traction even on highly unimproved surfaces.
Whether you are hauling massive loads in a quarry or navigating a muddy construction zone, this truck is engineered to handle the stress.
